The Confraternity of Christian Doctrine was an association established at Rome in 1562 for the purpose of providing religious education. Today CCD refers to a religious education program of the Catholic Church, normally designed for children.
Our Lady of Victories Parish Students who attend public school receive their Faith Formation through our parish CCD program which consists of class study and preparation for the reception of the sacraments. The goal of the parish CCD program is to enable and encourage the students to learn more about their faith. We strive as teachers in fidelity to the Catholic faith to instill in the students in our care a love for God, others and self through catechetical instruction and the sacramental life of the Catholic Church.
In helping parents to realize that they are the primary religious educators of their children, we seek to assist them in cultivating in their children an understanding of what it means to live a Christ-centered life in today's world. If your child is not enrolled in a Catholic elementary or high school we highly encourage you to contact our CCD coordinator, Donna Harper, at 228 762 1653, to sign them up for our religious education program so that they may grow in their knowledge and love of God and the Catholic faith.
